I have a camera bag for my camera equipment and lap top computer, with everything in the bag it would probally come to £3000.00. I am based in the united kingdom and im looking at travelling to Ireland in march for a week and than to africa for 2 weeks in july and back to australia end of july.
So i was wondering if anyone knew of a good insurance company that would just cover my camera bag up to the value of £3000.00. As i already have travel insurance.

I can’t say for sure as you’re in the UK, but in America, those items would be covered under your “homeowners” insurance under the personal property section….as long as they’re not used for business purposes. They will be covered anywhere in the world. But….the policies usually have limits on electronic or image-taking equipment. If you already have a homeowners or renters policy, ask you agent to specifically insure the items for an additional premium. If you don’t already have homeowners insurance, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a company to cover those items only.
Here in the USA, the camera and equipment would be covered under our “homeowners” insurance, subject to our deductible. If you have such insurance in the UK you may want to ask your insurance agent about coverage
If you are not using it for professional purposes then it would be covered under a Homeowner’s, Tenant’s or Condo Unit Owner’s policy.
If you are using it for professional purposes you will have to take out a Commercial policy with a property floater to cover the property while it’s away from the premises, but you’ll be hard pressed to find a company that will insure it for that short a time period.
