I have talked to many people who have visited barcelona and loved it. However, they all have told me stories about having had purses and camera equipment stolen. I usually carry two cameras, several lenses and a video camera wherever I travel. I am wondering whether I need to find camera bags with locks and other security devices. Do you have any experiences to share or advice to give? thanks, jim

Yep unfortunately I had my bag snatched from around my neck in Barcelona too.
If you want to carry all that equipment with you then I would put it in a sturdy ruck sack and wear it on your front instead of on your back so that no-one can slip a hand inside without you seeing. Its gonna be hot though, it always is in Barcelona, so you may not want to carry all your equipment around all day.
If I were you id invest in a bum bag (fanny pack) big enough to hold one camera and strap it to your front where you can see it.
Maybe have just one expedition out with all your equipment just at the end of your holiday, take photos of all the lovely things you saw and then lock the equipment in the safe in your hotel room again.

The simplest thing is that you just take one camera, which is the best for you to take, and keep an eye on that., or put that hang on you so that you will know when someone grabs it.
