So far I’ve decided on a Nikon D40. I found a package that includes the D40 body, 18-55mm AF-S VR lens, 55-200mm lens. and a camera bag with a bunch of accessories (SD cards and such).
I was ready to order when I saw a different package, this one included all the same stuff except you got a D60 instead of a D40, and the 55-200mm lens was also equipped with VR, this package was only $100 more.
The main things the D60 has that the D40 doesnt is a system for keeping dust off the image sensor, and 10.2 MP compared to 6.1 MP on the D40.
A lot of photographers i talked to said mexapixels arent important to image quality, but I plan on cropping images and then blowing them up to 12×18, still retaining a high dpi.
Is the extra $100 worth it? Is the dust-sensor system and extra MP going to allow me to take better shots? (with more experience of course)

I’m leaving for a 6 day camping trip tomorrow, and i was just wondering if anyone had any tips for how to pack the camera gear, like how would you pack the lenses, what extra things one may need etc. I’m already bringing a cleaning kit and camera manual, and im just looking for useful tips that I could use to improve the packing. I have a small camera bag to bring equip. in.
thanks
