You can ask to have your photo gear hand searched to protect your film.
Never, ever, under ANY circumstances pack expensive stuff like that in your check through luggage. Color it gone if you do. You are not allowed to place locks on your luggage unless they’re TSA Locks (available from travel stores).
I was shooting a wedding last night and my camera and lens was stolen right out of my bag. I was shooting as a subcontractor, but I think my employer who had a contract with these people should cover the theft under his insurance. This was a $5000 piece of equipment. Also, should I hold the photos as collateral? Is this legal? Any advice?
I have a brownie hawkeye that was built for 620 film, but I am using 120 film with it (because 620 is no longer produced), and I was just wondering if I should load the film in a dark room or changing bag or if it would be fine if I just did it out of direct sunlight. Any info on 120 film or kodak brownie camera loading would be awesome.
